Kitchen tools made to be kept.
Hatori is a small collection of kitchen tools: a rolling knife sharpener, titanium pans and pots, Japanese knives, cutting boards, and the pieces that go with them. Every one of them is built on the same three ideas.

It started in his mother’s kitchen.
Our founder, Eric Tanaka, grew up between two kitchens. His mother’s kitchen was Japanese: a few good tools, bought once, kept sharp, and looked after for decades.
Everywhere else he saw the other way of cooking: pans that peeled within a year, plastic tools that cracked, knives used dull and thrown away.
In 2019 he started Hatori to bring his mother’s kitchen to more homes.
One honest material. Nothing added.
Every Hatori product is made from a material you can name. The surface you cook on, cut on, and drink from is the material itself. There is no non-stick coating, no paint, no chemical treatment, and no plastic anywhere in the collection.

What touches your food is as pure as the day it was made.

Nothing to wear off, so nothing to wear out.
A pure material has no layer that can peel, so there is nothing that can fail. Titanium keeps its surface for decades and does not react with your food. Wood and steel age, and look better for it.
Take care of a Hatori piece and it will outlast the kitchen it lives in. Fewer things, bought once, kept for life: better for your home, and lighter on the world.

In Japan, a kitchen tool is something you keep.
A knife is sharpened, not replaced. A pan is used for thirty years, not thrown out after one.
Hatori is designed with that way of thinking in mind: simple shapes, honest materials, and the care that lets a tool last a lifetime. Professional-grade equipment, made for the everyday home kitchen.
Our promise
Every order ships free, comes with a 2-year warranty, and is covered by a 60-day money-back guarantee. If a Hatori piece does not earn its place in your kitchen, send it back.
Thank you for cooking with us.
